Project goal
The Comune of Portofino approached Twinkly Pro with the idea of using the advanced LED technology of Twinkly lights to create a festive and visually captivating skyline. This initiative was supported by Splendido and Splendido Mare, two prestigious hotels of the Belmond Group, which provided the Christmas tree for the square.

Our approach
The project involved the installation of 4,000 LEDs across the building outlines and the Christmas tree. Utilizing Twinkly's technology, we programmed the LEDs to produce animations and special effects that added a touch of magic to the Portofino square. The installation process required careful planning and execution to maintain the aesthetic integrity of the historic buildings while ensuring the lights provided a stunning display.
The results
The illumination of Piazza Martiri Dell'Olivetta was a spectacular success. The project transformed the square into a vibrant and enchanting holiday scene. The Twinkly lights beautifully outlined the historic buildings, adding a magical touch to Portofino's already stunning scenery. This installation not only enhanced the holiday spirit in Portofino but also showcased the potential of advanced lighting technology in creating memorable festive experiences. This Twinkly Pro project has now become a 365 days a year installation.

Group Type
The installation was managed as one grand object thanks to Twinkly's in-app grouping functionality: Join.
Mapping Type
Due to the skyline particular architecture and long run, it was mapped using Twinkly's Multi-view mapping, scanning one building at a time step by step to then let the cloud reconstruct a faithful 2D-layout.
Controllers
The installation was possible thanks to a strategic positioning of the controllers to manage hundreds of meters of LEDs spanning across various buildings.
Remote Control
Thanks to the cloud connectivity the client was able to manage the display's schedule and programmes from anywhere, even from a different city.
